I. Zackler
Allan
has specialized in business and corporate law since 1972 and consumer
products/food regulatory and marketing law since 1975.
His
business practice includes representing clients in contract negotiations,
business formations and finance, distribution agreements, buy-sell agreements,
technology licensing, and general commercial transactions.
Allan’s
consumer products and food law practice provides comprehensive business
and regulatory legal services.
Allan
also advises advertisers on claims substantiation and works with clients
to respond to governmental inquiries from the FDA, FTC, State Attorneys
General, District Attorneys and others.
Allan
has been in private practice since 1984. Previously, he practiced for
10 years as Vice President and General Counsel for Foremost Dairies,
Inc., a $700 million per year processor of food products, and as Senior
Counsel for McKesson Corporation. His in-house practice gave him a perspective
not often found in outside counsel; namely, that of an inside corporate
counsel who has worked closely with top and middle management. He understands
that clients need quick, responsive advice that they can use immediately.
A
1972 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, Allan served
as a Senior Editor of the Northwestern Law Review and was an instructor
of legal writing. He received his B.A. cum laude from the University
of Illinois in 1968. His legal career began at the Chicago law firm
of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal.
